About

John Foster’s career reflects a lifelong commitment to service, integrity, and thoughtful leadership. Raised in a family shaped by military, emergency response, and legal service, he learned early that trust is earned through consistency, accountability, and respect for institutions that serve the public good. Throughout his career, John has gravitated toward roles that demand both technical excellence and sound judgment. From representing local governments to serving as General Counsel for a major public education system, his work has focused on guiding organizations through complex legal landscapes while maintaining transparency and public trust. John believes effective legal leadership requires preparation, humility, and the ability to see beyond immediate outcomes to long-term consequences. His recognition as AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell reflects peer acknowledgement of his professionalism, ethics, and legal ability. Outside of the law, John finds balance through long-distance cycling. An avid gravel and mountain biker, he enjoys exploring rural and remote areas, often seeking out challenging terrain that rewards patience and endurance. He has also contributed to his community through faith-based service, including serving as Past President of Christ Lutheran Church.
